A Consortium led by the University of Alabama in Huntsville with partners Alabama A&M University and Tuskegee University has been designated a Legacy Intelligence Community Center of Academic Excellence (IC CAE) in the area of Critical Technologies. The national IC CAE program is a congressionally mandated program coordinated by the Office of the Director of National Intelligence to promote the acquisition of essential, highly skilled talent for the national security workforce of the future.
The Consortium was created as an IC CAE Critical Technology Studies Program to provide students the opportunity to earn university credentials in Critical Technologies at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Key areas of study in the original funding included artificial intelligence, machine learning, data visualization, computational statistics/algorithm design, and computer science analytical writing and briefing. Our program mission today is much broader.
As a Legacy IC CAE program, we continue developing programs to support student interest in careers in the US Intelligence Community across various degree programs. From STEM fields, languages, political science and government policy, human resources, infrastructure and logistics, the IC needs talented people in almost every career category.
The IC offers many opportunities for students to contribute to the mission through internships, cooperative education programs, scholarships, and fellowships. Explore intelligence community opportunities and position yourself for a full-time career with the Intelligence Community.
